Miss Ann has been dancing since she was four years old. She’s studied dance
throughout her life and in college was a Theatre major and a Dance minor. After school she started making the rounds on auditions
and found she was being hired more often for her dancing rather than acting. Being that show business is somewhat unpredictable,
she gravitated to a steady position teaching dance. She’s been fortunate enough to study with Gelsey
Kirkland at The Harkness House in New York City, Lee Theodore's American Dance Machine, with Luba Gulyeana at The Lee
Strasberg Theatre Institute and with many famous and talented teachers across the United States. Currently she studies at
several studios in Manhattan, including Broadway Dance Center where she’s subbed Tap classes for the legendary/incendiary
Phil Black, Steps on Broadway, Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, and Alvin Ailey where she subbed Jazz
class for the iconic Sue Samuels. Her teachers are performers and choreographers on Broadway and in Hollywood for theatre,
music videos, concerts, and films. Her classmates have included Brooke Shields, Bebe Neuwirth, Liza Minnelli, and Anne Hathaway
to mention but a few, and her teachers and former students have coached the likes of Paula Abdul, Jennifer
Lopez, Michael Jackson, and Rhianna, and have appeared in many professional venues. This past season one
of her students appeared on the television series Smash. Miss Ann has been in T.V. movies, commercials, and music videos here
and abroad, and has appeared off Broadway at Symphony Space with Ballet Argentino in the corps de ballet
where they performed the ballet Faust. Touring the United States as a backup singer with CBS recording
artists “Soccer" was also quite an education and, playing the Copacabana on Halloween was a memorable
event. She is affiliated with the dance organization Dance Educators Of America and still attends conventions across the country.
Miss Ann attended a tap workshop in St. Louis at the St. LouisTapfest where she took class with her idol Arthur Duncan
from The Lawrence Welk Show and with Bill Irwin (Mr. Noodle! from Sesame Street fame). Her students every
year put on some lovely shows at assisted living centers much to the residents' delight. Last fall Miss
Ann was appointed to the advisory board of a new jazz dance company based at Alvin Ailey’s. In the past she’s taken
students to conventions like the Tradition in Tap Workshop in New York City , The N.Y.C. Dance Makers Workshop,
and to L.A. to study at The L.A. Tapfest held at The Debbie Allen Dance Academy where her students had the opportunity to
meet Miss Allen, Dick Van Dyke, Arthur Duncan, and Fayard Nicholas of the Nicholas Brothers. When in L.A. Miss Ann takes lessons
at The Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood and at Edge Performing Arts Center. Miss
Ann and her husband Daniel continue their ballroom training at Manhattan’s finest
Ballroom dance studio, Paul Pellicoro’s Dancesport, where they have the chance to dance with internationally famous
ballroom champions. She has taken class with Dancing With The Stars’ Tony Dovolani at the N.Y.C. Dance
Teachers Alliance Workshop. She also got to dance alongside season one winner Nick Lazzarini from the television show, So
You Think You Can Dance and All The Right Moves. When in Paris Miss Ann takes class at Centre de Danse on Rue Temple with
the legendary Martine Raveaux. Being fortunate enough to receive very positive encouragement in her own
dance training, she endeavors to instill the same positive, stimulating, and creative attitude that she has enjoyed from
all her teachers and she would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for making her who she is
today. A dancer with a passion for sharing their knowledge.
